ROAD TRIP THROUGHT THE MIDLANDS MEANDER, KWAZULU-NATAL

Beauty to behold at Hillside lodge, Bulwa in KwaZulu-Natal.
It was late afternoon when we decided to take a break from the long drive from Umtata, Eastern Cape to Johannesburg Gauteng. It was just outside the town of Bulwa on the R617 to Underberg that we saw a sign that pointed to a lodge in the hills aptly named Hillside Lodge. We spent the night there and were not disappointed. The evening was spent in almost total darkness stargazing in amazement at the millions of stars that you would not see in the cities. The next day took us into the KZN midlands through pristine valleys and lakes, which saw us arrive in the town of Mooi River and eventually connect to the N1 to Johannesburg. Unforgettable.
